You're obviously not alone but for what it's worth, I never liked the song either. And I still don't!

Never could understand the hate for Poom Poom. Its a keeper in my book. Should have been on Chaos & Disorder IMO.

this is so weird. out of nowhere i felt an urge to listen to it this morning, after having
happily lived without hearing it for about 10 years or so lol

there's elements of it that i like a lot. but large portions of it just grate too much to
make it a staple in my playlist.

it was nice to hear it again tho.

I wonder if Prince made a video for this. It could have been a fun one.

I wonder why he chose to begin the song with 'what am I gonna do' sung exactly the same, but even more intensely than he does on the 2nd version of Wally?

I guess we'll never know, but it was a bit of a shock when that song surfaced a couple of years ago.

No. I don't mind the title or the subject matter. It's the sound of it I don't like. Gets kind of irritating quite quickly and never recovers.

I know what the title means, I just don't know how that would be a reason to dislike the song.

The drum part sounded better in Big Fun. Pretty lazy to just reuse it.

Hmmm, religion and misogyny come to mind, I'm sure there are more. Like just being a little ol' prude.

Well I'm not religious in any way and I find misogyny to be hilarious. Also, I'm not a prude. So yay for me! biggrin
